Difference between Natural Draft and Forced Draft Cooling Towers

Due to continuous mechanical processes, industrial processes and machinery generate huge amounts of heat which makes dissipation a necessary task for efficient functioning. The heat needs to be emitted out in the environment, which is done by a heat exchange process. This becomes the basis of a cooling tower technology. Cooling tower is a heat rejecting system put into use since the 20th Century but unfortunately many people are not aware about cooling towers. Specialized heat exchanger that brings air and water into direct contact with each other to help reduce the water's temperature. While this process takes place, a small amount of water is evaporated.

To understand the difference between Natural Draft Cooling Tower and Forced Draft Cooling Tower we need to understand what each of them is separate.

Natural Draft Cooling Tower

As the name suggests, natural draft cooling tower manufacturer create cooling tower that rely on natural convention to circulate the air completely through the tower, which then cools with the help of cold water. Air movement takes place because of difference in density between the air that enters inside and the one that is already inside within the tower.
